ABOUT ABOUT

The Mahoning Music Series continues on Sunday, July 10th when Penelope Spheeris’ SUBURBIA (1983) screens on 35mm!

Released by Roger Corman’s New World pictures, this tale of thrown-away disaffected youth finding family in the punk rock scene was director Penelope Spheeris’ first narrative feature, following her classic punk documentary THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION, filled with the raw energy and emotion of a cast of real street kids who’d lived the real life this film portrays, and live performances by D.I., T.S.O.L., The Germs and The Vandals.

An update of 50s “Youth Gone Wild” films made at the dawn of the 80s, SUBURBIA is a shocking and poignant tale of youth in search of connection. It's a night of pure punk pleasure and pain on 35mm!

Co-presented by Justin Savage; who brings DJ Todd-O-Phonic for a live preshow set, limited edition merch, and a few special surprises you will not want to miss!!

Gates open at 6pm. Showtime at Sundown.

General Ticket: $8 (per person) - General+Overnight: $16 (per person)
