Join Frankie and Annette and the beach bunch for a night of sun, surf and sand, kickin’ tunes, wacky comedy, and a wild cast including Buster Keaton, Linda Evans, Paul Lynde, Don Rickles, “Dr. Pepper Girl” Donna Loren, Marta Kristen (LOST IN SPACE), and Timothy Carey as the sinister South Dakota Slim! It’s a squeaky-clean (yet slyly subversive) slice of 1960s pop culture fun involving skydiving, seaside smooching, biker gangs, and a mermaid!
In the 1960s, American International Pictures were the kings of the Drive-Ins, cranking out films aimed at the lucrative teenage market, the Beach Party series (BEACH BLANKET BINGO being the fifth out of seven in the official series) being one of their biggest franchises, filling screens with innocent fun and frolic, with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello and a cast of regulars engaging in off-the-wall hijinks set in and around a California beach, their carefree carousing occasionally interrupted by the Brando goof Erich Von Zipper and his Rat Pack of leather-clad bikers, or the other occasional square adult getting in the way of their feverish frugging.
The fun stars while the sun shines as we feature live a live set by the surf rock combo Sun Bus under the massive Mahoning screen, a 60s-style dance contest, Live DJ set by Cy Rush, sandy beach photo op, and more!
