On Friday, June 21st, join us as we celebrate the cinematic legacy of one Mr. Cornelius Crane Chase, as we get HEAVY ON CHEVY with two Chevy Chase comedy classics on 35mm! From SNL to the big screen, Chevy Chase ruled the box office in the 1980s, and we’ve picked just two of his many classics to fill the screen (and your car) with laughs!
First up, meet Lucky Day, Ned Nederlander, and Dusty Bottoms, better known as the THREE AMIGOS (1986)! This trio of silent cinematic sombreroeers finds themselves south of the border for what they think is a public appearance, but as their bad luck would have it, turns out to be a real-life battle against the evil bandit El Guapo!
It’s a singing, shooting, surreal slapstick classic, starring Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Randy Newman as The Singing Bush!
Then, grab your balls, grip your putter and get ready to score when you head out to the CADDYSHACK (1980)! One of the great slob comedies of the 80s, directed by Harold Ramis and written by Ramis, Brian Doyle-Murray and NATIONAL LAMPOON’s Douglas Kenney.
Featuring Chevy as golf pro Ty Webb, laid-back master of the nine iron, ladies man, and dispenser of cosmic wisdom! With iconic performances (and lines) by Bill Murray, Ted Knight, Rodney Dangerfield, Michael O’Keefe, Cindy Morgan, and one seriously pesky gopher! You’ll never look at a Baby Ruth the same way again!
