THURSDAY SHOW ADDED!!!! Tix Go Live on Friday, June 11th at NOON est.
CALLING ALL DRIVE-IN FANS!
***THURSDAY EVENT DESCRIPTION BELOW***
Joe Bob Briggs (American’s first and foremost Drive-In Movie Critic and host of Shudder’s THE LAST DRIVE-IN) pulls the Airstream onto the Mahoning Drive-In lot one night early, in a special Thursday night kick-off to the sold-out Joe Bob’s Drive-In Jamboree! JB’s fixin’ to dish out some down-home book learnin’ with HOW REDNECKS SAVED HOLLYWOOD, a two-hour comedic lecture filled with images and clips, detailing the history of the Redneck in America, and how good ‘ol boys and sassy lasses helped turn the film industry on its ear. He’ll thumb his nose at the High Sherriffs and lay bare the truth about moonshiners, clod-kickers, and farmer’s daughters, as told through decades of cinema of both the high and low variety.
And once Joe Bob rests his case, our 35mm projectors will light up the screen with the all-time hammer-down classic, SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT (1977), in the role that sent Burt Reynolds into the cinematic stratosphere, behind the wheel of a black Trans-Am, with Sally Field at his side and Jackie Gleason on his tail. It’s Atlanta to Texarkana and back to pick up and deliver a truckload of illegal Coors for a sweet payoff, a long way to go and a short time to get there, but with the Bandit and The Snowman (and Fred) behind the wheels, they might just do what others say can’t be done!
Thursday General Ticket: $50 (per person) - This Ticket option will allow you to gain access to the lot at 6pm. No Overnight Passes Available at the gates.

Joe Bob will be available for Photos & Autographs at his table before sunset (all at additional cost).
In celebration of Joe Bob’s arrival and SMOKEY, we’ll have themed Snack Bar food specials, and a live DJ set of 60s-70s country and southern rock, so scoot your boots on down to the Mahoning and sit a spell, as Joe Bob, Rednecks, and a man called Bandit from Atlanta, GA give you the time of your life under the stars!
