ABOUT ABOUT

On Thursday, July 4th: EASY RIDER (1969) on 35mm.

A man went looking for America.  And couldn’t find it anywhere.

Looking for a weeknight reason to celebrate celluloid?  Join us at The Mahoning Drive-In Theater for Thursday Thread-Up!  From grindhouse to arthouse, cult classics to deep cuts, we present a series of single-feature 35mm screenings several Thursday nights a month, to get you ready for the weekend!

Get ready to take a deep dive into the murky depths of cinema history, lighting up the mighty Mahoning screen with singular sensations several times a month, all season long!

Join us for a 55th anniversary 35mm screening of the counterculture classic that defined a generation and helped usher in the era of New Hollywood of the 1970s. Seen by many as the greatest biker film ever made, a road film contrasting the hope and freedom of late 1960s youth culture with the cold reality of much of America’s reaction to it.

Dennis Hopper directs and co-stars as Billy, pal of Peter Fonda’s Wyatt, two L.A. bikers who make one last score to set themselves up for retirement in Florida, and find friends, foes, and fear along the ribbon of highway that connects us all.

Featuring Jack Nicholson in a star-making role as George Hanson, southern lawyer and kindred spirit, Karen Black, and Luke Askew, with an iconic soundtrack featuring Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Steppenwolf, and The Byrds.

Gates open at 6pm. Showtime at Sundown.

General Ticket: $8 (per person). Kids General Ticket: $5 (under 13yrs).
General + Extended Pass: $16 (per person).

*Extended Pass allows you to stay on the lot until Noon the following day.
