ABOUT ABOUT

On Thursday, September 12th: THE SHINING (1980) on 35mm!

A masterpiece of modern horror!

We pay tribute to the late Shelley Duvall with a 35mm screening of Stanley Kubrick’s big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s THE SHINING, one of the most terrifying and analyzed horror films of all time.

Looking for a weeknight reason to celebrate celluloid?  Join us at The Mahoning Drive-In Theater for Thursday Thread-Up!  From grindhouse to arthouse, cult classics to deep cuts, we present a series of single-feature 35mm screenings several Thursday nights a month, to get you ready for the weekend!

Get ready to take a deep dive into the murky depths of cinema history, lighting up the mighty Mahoning screen with singular sensations several times a month, all season long!

Duvall stars as Wendy, quiet wife to Jack (Jack Nicholson) and adoring mother to Danny (Danny Lloyd), who travel to the remote and snowy Overlook Hotel to act as off-season caretakers while Jack works on his novel.  Unfortunately the restless spirits of the Overlook decide to work on Jack instead, leading to a shocking and disturbing journey into madness and the supernatural.

See Shelley Duvall in one of her most iconic roles on the big, Big screen, and roam the halls of the Overlook, knowing the ghosts of the hotel’s past can’t reach you there.  Or can they?
